The Victorian racing industry controlling bodies are responsible for the development, promotion and management of the conduct of their respective racing codes in Victoria.

Victorian Racing Integrity Board (VRIB)

Effective from 1 August 2019, the Victorian Racing Integrity Board is a new independent cross-code integrity board that will oversee the delivery of integrity functions by Racing Victoria, Greyhound Racing Victoria, and Harness Racing Victoria (the three racing controlling bodies).

The Board was established to enhance the Victorian Racing Industry's integrity framework and ensure racing integrity in Victoria is subject to an independent and transparent system of checks and balances.

Victorian Racing Appeal and Disciplinary Bodies

Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (External link) (VCAT)

VCAT provides independent review of administrative decisions made by the Victorian government and selected non-government bodies, including appeals against the findings of the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Boards.

Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Boards

The RAD Boards are independent Boards established in each code to hear and determine appeals from decisions of the stewards and to also hear and determine alleged breaches of specified serious offences under the Rules of Racing.

Victorian Racing Tribunal (VRT)

The Victorian Racing Tribunal has jurisdiction for all matters involving serious offences under the rules of racing of the respective racing codes. It also has jurisdiction to hear appeals from decisions of stewards in relation to other offences.

Greyhound Owners, Trainers and Breeders Association of Victoria (GOTBA) (External link)

GOTBA represents the interests of Greyhound owners, trainers and breeders in Victoria.

Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria (TBV) (External link)

TBV is the peak industry and representative body for all Thoroughbred breeders in Victoria and represents the Victorian Thoroughbred breeding industry at National Breeders Meetings and at all meetings and committees with governmental, racing, veterinary and associated bodies throughout Victoria and Australia.

VBA is the peak representative body for bookmakers in Victoria. All Victorian Bookmakers are members of the VBA.

VJA provides retirement and welfare support services to jockeys in Victoria.
